Binary thinking when it comes to human behavior is always problematic. Tethering racist beliefs and endorsement of racist practices and the promotion of racist acrtivities to skin color doesn't help to change the narrative. Racism is like a cancerous tumor that affects the quality of ALL of our lives. Racism exists and persists and ANYONE who holds racist beliefs or promotes racist policies and practices can be racist. Surely I have experienced and witnessed these beliefs in Whites but have also experienced it with BIPOC folks. This is a far more complex issue than this post would lead us to believe. I appreciate the ideas but it's a conversation stopper for me rather than one that can lead to changing the narrative and pushing us toward racial equity.
